Privacy Policy
Effective August 29, 2026
Beer Frontier uses a limited set of account and preference data to save your private frontier, personalize recommendations, and operate the service.
Account and sign-in data
Google sign-in is handled through Supabase Auth. Google may provide the basic identity information needed to authenticate you, including an account identifier, email address, name, and profile image. Beer Frontier currently displays only your verified email and sign-in provider and does not use your Google authorization to read Gmail, contacts, or other Google services.
Authentication uses security cookies to keep you signed in. Temporary preferences may be held in browser session storage while sign-in completes so the choices you just made are not lost.
Private profile and activity data
When you provide or create it, Beer Frontier may store:
- beer-style preferences, discovery choices, favorites, feedback, and brewery marks;
- optional Untappd and BeerAdvocate usernames and public data associated with them;
- your saved Home area and its presentation label;
- a private birth date and 21+ confirmation used for age eligibility; and
- private Explore missions, expeditions, progress, and completion history.
This information is used to provide the features you choose and personalize Beer Frontier. Birth date and age confirmation are not recommendation signals. Profile and mission records are protected as owner-only data in the application database.
Location data
Beer Frontier may use approximate city, state, postal, or coordinate information supplied with a web request to establish a Current area. If you explicitly allow device location, it may use those coordinates for the same purpose. Current area is separate from the Home area you deliberately save.
When you use free-form location search, the text you enter and the result you select are sent through Beer Frontier’s server to Google Places. Google processes information associated with those requests under the Google Privacy Policy. Beer Frontier uses the response to resolve a friendly area label and the canonical ZIP required by its existing location features; typed search text is not added to your profile.
Operations and analytics
Beer Frontier runs on Vercel and Supabase, which process technical information needed to host the application, secure sessions, serve requests, and operate the database. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights receive sanitized page paths and coarse interaction events. Custom analytics exclude birth dates, typed location searches, precise coordinates, destination names, and account identifiers.
Sharing, retention, and choices
Beer Frontier does not sell or rent personal information. Data is shared with service providers only as needed to authenticate users, host and secure the app, perform the location search a user requests, or provide another selected feature.
Account and profile data is retained while needed to provide the account and operate the service. You can update optional profile, Home-area, and age information from Me. Signing out ends the local session but does not delete the account or its saved data.
Adults only and policy changes
Beer Frontier is intended for adults who are at least 21. This policy may change as the service develops or its providers change; material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
